My Quirky Journey

Tracing the roots of my educational and personal growth.

🌱 Village Roots

Sandanezwe, KwaZulu-Natal

Raised in Sandanezwe, a rural area between Ixopo and Donnybrook/Bulwer, I spent my early years in a close-knit community where resourcefulness and curiosity were part of everyday life. Until 2017, this environment shaped my mindset, teaching me how to solve problems creatively and adapt with limited resources.

📚 Primary Education

2010 - 2017

Khethokuhle Primary School: Built foundational academic skills and early problem-solving abilities, establishing a strong base for continued learning while growing up in a rural schooling environment.

🎓 Secondary Education

2018 - 2022

Thornhill Christian College (Pietermaritzburg): Transitioned from a rural upbringing to a more urban academic environment, fostering discipline, independence, and critical thinking. I pursued a science and technology stream, focusing on Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, and Computer Applications Technology.

💻 Tertiary Education

2023 - 2025

Boston City Campus (Durban): Diploma in Systems Development, specialising in software development with exposure to building practical applications. This phase strengthened my technical proficiency and reinforced my passion for creating real-world software solutions.

Engineering Principles & Approach

How I approach software development, systems architecture, and client delivery.

🛠️ Practical Engineering

I prioritize building software that solves concrete business problems. I favor clarity, maintainability, and standard patterns over unnecessary complexity.

📐 Systems & Architecture

Experience across both frontend and backend development: structuring normalized relational schemas (MySQL, PostgreSQL), RESTful routing, and state handling.

🧼 Code Quality & Standards

I practice clean code principles, including DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) and KISS (Keep It Simple). I write well-organized, readable code that is easy to maintain and extend.

⚡ Client Delivery

Proven track record of delivering 10 production client websites for real South African businesses, managing the full delivery lifecycle from requirements to live deployment.

🖥️ Broad Technical Base

My background includes foundational hardware, networking, and systems administration (CompTIA A+ and Security+ concepts) alongside software development.

🚀 Performance & Responsiveness

Designing mobile-responsive, lightweight web pages with semantic HTML5, modern CSS, and efficient JavaScript that load quickly across South African mobile networks.

📚 Continuous Learning

Committed to continuous technical growth: actively building projects in TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, and Android (Java) alongside my formal systems diploma.

🔐 Technical Interests

Actively interested in applied artificial intelligence, cybersecurity principles, cryptography tools, and decentralized open-source systems.
